Wei Jia,born in 1933, famous acupuncturist in China, supervisor for successor to the national famous veteran TCM doctors, and famous TCM doctor in Jiangxi province. He was honored as the “magical acupuncturist Wei” in the 1960s. He initiated “Theories on Acupuncture and Moxibustion” and “Acupoint Therapeutics of Noninvasive Pain”, and first put forward the theory on treating heat syndrome through moxibustion and view on complementary therapy, while the former contradicts the time-honored view that heat syndrome cannot be treated with moxibustion and shocked the whole academic circle. Besides, he discovered the new phenomenon of acupoint sensitization and its rules, and created the new theory of “moving points”, which greatly improves the clinical effect. He is outstanding in clinical, scientific research and teaching achievements and renowned at the international acupuncture. He was hired by academic institutions from various countries such as America, the United Kingdom, Argentina and Hong Kong. His achievements have been recorded in Biography for International Medical Celebrities published by Oxford University, while the book Theory On Acupuncture and Moxibustion under his general editorship was translated and published in 2003 by Toyo Academic Press of Japan. In addition, he also edited the books like Acupoint Therapeutics of Noninvasive Pain, Classified Compilation of Clinical Acupuncture＆Moxibustion under Thousand Golden Prescriptions and Introduction to schools of Acupuncture.
